Technical Information
Our website and hosting infrastructure may automatically process limited technical information necessary for security, troubleshooting and reliable operation. This may include information such as IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, requested pages and other basic server or security logs.
Such information is not used to identify you personally unless reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, technical support or compliance with applicable law.
2. Google Sign-In and Google User Data
DigitalUptake uses Google Sign-In / Google OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect solely to authenticate and confirm the identity of users who have already been authorised to access a DigitalUptake account or application.
Google Sign-In is not used as a public registration system.
A Google account does not automatically create a new DigitalUptake account and does not, by itself, grant a person access to DigitalUptake services or applications. We only permit Google authentication for users who are already associated with an authorised DigitalUptake account or user record.
When you authenticate using Google, Google may provide us with basic account information required for authentication, such as:
- Your Google Account email address
- Your verified email status
- A unique Google account identifier
- Basic profile information, such as your name or profile image, where such information is included in the Google Sign-In response
We use this information only to:
- Confirm your identity
- Verify that the Google account corresponds with an existing authorised DigitalUptake user
- Authenticate your access
- Maintain the security of the authentication process
- Provide the user-facing functionality for which Google Sign-In is used
We do not use Google user data for advertising, retargeting, profiling or unrelated marketing.
We do not request or access your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Calendar information, Google Contacts or other Google account content through the DigitalUptake authentication process.
We do not receive or store your Google Account password.
DigitalUptake does not sell or rent Google user data.
Information received from Google APIs is handled in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Where Google authentication information is no longer required for an authorised user, it will be removed or deleted in accordance with our data retention practices and applicable legal requirements.

Google processes information in accordance with Google's own privacy policies and terms. DigitalUptake's use of information received from Google is limited to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
5. Google User Data: Limited Use Commitment
DigitalUptake's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google user data will only be used to provide or improve the authentication functionality described in this Privacy Policy.
We do not transfer, sell or use Google user data for advertising, targeted advertising, data brokerage or other unrelated purposes.
We will only disclose Google user data where permitted under Google's policies, necessary to provide the authorised functionality, required for security, required by law, or otherwise expressly permitted.

- Respond to an enquiry or quote request
- Maintain an ongoing client or business relationship
- Maintain appropriate business and accounting records
- Resolve disputes
- Prevent fraud or abuse
- Protect the security of our systems
- Comply with legal or regulatory obligations
Contact and quote request information may therefore be retained for a reasonable period after the enquiry or quotation has been completed where it remains relevant to our business records or legal obligations.
Google authentication information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to maintain authorised access, security and account administration.
When personal information is no longer reasonably required, we will take reasonable steps to securely delete, destroy or anonymise it, subject to any applicable legal retention requirements.
7. Security of Personal Information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, unlawful processing, loss, damage, destruction or disclosure.

DigitalUptake does not use Google user data obtained through authentication for advertising or targeted advertising.
9. Processing Outside South Africa
Some third-party service providers used to operate our website, communications, hosting or authentication services may process personal information outside the Republic of South Africa.
Where personal information is transferred to or processed in another jurisdiction, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer and processing are conducted in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
Google may process information in countries other than South Africa in accordance with its own privacy policies and applicable legal requirements.
10. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information
- Request deletion of personal information where we are no longer authorised or required to retain it
- Object to certain forms of processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Request information about how your personal information is being used
Requests relating to your personal information can be submitted using the contact details below.
We may need to verify your identity before processing a request concerning personal information or an authorised DigitalUptake account.
Certain information may need to be retained where required or permitted by law.
11. Google Account Access and Disconnection
If you use Google Sign-In to authenticate to an authorised DigitalUptake account, you may manage or revoke the connection between your Google Account and DigitalUptake through your Google Account settings.
You may also contact DigitalUptake to request that the association between your Google account and your DigitalUptake account be removed.
Removing Google authentication may prevent you from accessing functionality that requires Google Sign-In, but will not prevent you from contacting DigitalUptake regarding your personal information.

Our website and services are intended for general business and professional use. We do not knowingly request personal information from children for purposes unrelated to the services we provide.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, technology, legal requirements or privacy practices.
When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
